Yep and this is how its going to be for just about every team every year, not just us. There's a buttload of qbs in the portal right now.

Not that I expect Sawyer to come back, but the portal closes on January 18th. If he hasn't talked to the new offensive coordinator yet, he really doesn't have time to wait. It's at least possible that he's entering the portal to figure out what his options are and if he feels good about the style of play of the OC he may come back. Not that I'm betting on it; even if he likes the message from the new coach, he still probably has to believe he can beat out Rogers in the new system to decide to stay. Just pointing out the possibility since he's only given himself two weeks to get an offer and make a decision on a new school, seems possible he's not gung ho on leaving.

Also possible he already knows where he wants to go and was waiting until after the bowl game to fill out paperwork.

It's no knock on the young man, big strong man that throws accurately. But 67 rushes for -14 yards in HS and 12 rushes for -25 in college does not equate to Relf/Jefferson level running ability.

He's also a lot bigger than 200 lbs. these days. He's got some muscle. His mom says he's pushing 240 these days. He can run. He's not a pro style QB. One of the reasons Syracuse wanted was b/c he was so mobile.

I don't know. Couldn't tell by his video. Didn't see him running much. He has kind of a funny throwing motion.

Yeah I think Syracuse had him at 235. Big strong young man. Throws an accurate ball. I think started 2-3 games as a freshman and was over 60% throwing.
