I thought in the beginning that Hatcher's type offense was what CZA was looking for. I'm pretty sure Hatcher had an interest. Just not sure where he was or is on CZA's list or if he even made the list. If he can get KB though that's a home run hire.

Shannon Dawson is a name I've heard a little bit here and there throughout the search. I imagine his name will pick up steam. Kevin Johns will probably be a hot name as well. Littrell is a pipe dream. Kittley has no intention of leaving TTU and I doubt Garrett Riley would bolt after a year and TCU can outspend us by miles.

Those are just the names off the top of my head at the moment. I know Jake Peetz turned down Matt Rhule but you may want to at least gauge his interest. The problem is that any hire not named Kendall Briles is going to be a let down and rightfully so because he will have turned us down. There's no rumors about it, he was offered the position and has an offer, if he is not the hire then the next guy will always be the second choice. If it ever got past Kevin Johns then you could always just give it to Chris Hatcher.

Oh I agree 100%. However, the optics until the ball is put down in September will be that we missed on our number 1 choice and had to pivot to whoever the hire ends up being. Yesterday I was 75/25 the hire would be KB. Today I'm around 55/45 and closer to 50/50. If it gets past today I will be 5/95.

I highly doubt this one will be made in the US and like you said hardly last anywhere near that. I had a plumber that told me that they could design a hot water heater that pretty much would last a lifetime but it wouldn't be a good marketing strategy. Companies want to sell hot water heaters.

Off topic but still responsive to the thread branch, the door switch on our dryer broke a couple weeks ago. They first thing the repairman said when he walked in was "they don't make them like that any longer". I don't know how old the dryer is, but just a guess I'd say 15 years. This is the first problem we've had with it, and now that I saw him do the repair, I could easily do it myself - one screw at the lint screen opening and two for the switch itself (but I tend to screw things up when I try to fix them myself). Don't know what the part costs, but the total charge was $206.
