Under tragic circumstances Coach Arnett and staff have done a great job!
Holding the class together and pulling a could surprises.
Not sure how anyone could think other wise.

I agree, great job by Zach and staff! This could've easily gone sideways and we could've lost this class but holding it together and adding some good pieces deserves a Plus, PLus for Zach and staff. Off to a great start!

They did very well. These high school seniors are in a unique position that very few 17-18 year olds find themselves. A very small percentage have NFL talent. Very small. So the rest have to rely on the next 4-5 years to, hopefully, shape, mold and prepare their future. It's pretty well known that athletes at this level, particularly in major sports, carry an advantage after college. And that is especially so if they were a regular starter and continue to live in the region that they played. Everyone knows them and they get the perks from having played at one of the major universities. Contacts. Many contacts. Let's face it. These guys, for the most part, are not aware of the history, legacy and high position in the world of collegiate football that Mike Leach possessed. At least not to the extent that most here know. Unless they were in tune to the world of sports this last week. So if they connected with him during the recruiting process and were planning to play for him and put their future in his hands, then his sudden passing would probably give pause to at least a few. Especially considering today's landscape of college football and the lucrative benefits it can afford.

All this to say, if Arnett and staff were able to convince the majority of the guys to stick with us and carry on Mike's legacy knowing that it was uncharted territory for a bunch of high school seniors, that is beyond impressive. And all the while working to accomplish that in the midst of tragically losing their boss, mentor, friend, confidant and in some cases father figure for a few players. And..... on top of all that trying to prepare for a New Years bowl game. Zach has definitely earned his new paycheck the last week. And so did Dr. Keenum. I would not have wanted to be behind his desk this week for anything. It has been brutal.
