I really don't understand why these guys aren't opting out sooner. How is the bowl game any less meaningful than a game between a 7-4 Illinois and a 1-10 Northwestern? I can get playing at 7-3 versus Michigan. That's at least a marquee matchup that can theoretically move your draft position some. I don't get playing at 1-10 Northwestern if you aren't going to play in the bowl game.
