I would call it the best final in 36 years. In 1986, the 3-2 Argentina victory over Germany was more epic for my Dad. For guys my Grand-dad's age the 2-1 Maracanaso in 1950 was the greatest match.

Great for the game that Qatar was the host, the Arab nations really love the game. They spared no expense and it did not have commercial Disney Corporation vibe. It was a field-of-dreams tournament. Likewise good for Morocco to make noise and reach a semi-final.

The Telemundo announcer, who is Argentine cried during the broadcast. Genuine joy.

I was incorrect about being one of a billion who watched the World Cup Final, I was one of one and a half billion who were very excited and happy with the game. The traditional gray beards have their gig in sports but the youth of America have found a substitute for baseball called soccer because baseball is extremely boring to them? The youth of America have internet skills and know how to find content outside of common television. Now television is scrambling and competing to get soccer content to accommodate the new and younger viewers. All this why baseball is dyeing a death of a thousand cuts while their viewers are dyeing of old age and not being replaced because the youth have chosen their sport?
