Leach loved a lot of things but he really loved football. To not play the bowl game would be a grave dishonor to him and his legacy on the football field.

Playing that game would give the team some closure and would allow his life to be celebrated nationally on tv. It will be one of the most watched bowl games outside of the playoffs.
