Heck if UT loses, we get pushed further. May get pushed from the Orlando all the way to Houston. Of course, the Texas-Bowl is the second highest payout bowl behind the Citrus after all the NY 6 bowls.

Actually the Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa and the Texas Bowl in Houston pay the same $6,400,000.

If we're gonna win 9 games, Gator or Outback (or whatever tf it's called now) is our best bet.

It really doesn't matter which bowl (unless you're in the playoffs). You never know what it's going to be like anymore and isn't as big of a deal as it once was due to everyone sitting out

It always matters to programs like State that will never sniff a 4 team program. The Citrus is the next most prestigious bowl game after the Playoffs and New Year?s 6. But if we can still get Tampa or Houston, maybe the fans can have a good time without Icicles hanging from our Noses.

Some off-the-cuff bowl projections:

Georgia, Bama, Tennessee: Some combination of CFP and NY6 bowls: Fiesta, Peach, Sugar, Orange, Cotton
----------
LSU - Citrus
----------
Pool of 6 -- not sure how these will play out but State typically gets screwed in the process, so I expect us to get December 17.
South Carolina - ReliaQuest (Old Outback)
Mississippi State - Las Vegas
Ole Miss - Gator
Kentucky - Music City
Missouri - Liberty
Arkansas - Texas
----------
Florida - Birmingham
----------
Vandy, Auburn, and Texas A&M will all be 5-7. Don't know how their APR may play into other bowl options.

What a crazy day.

I've looked at four this morning and they are all over the place. CBS has us in the Gator vs Notre Dame. Hell yes on that. 247 has us in the Vegas vs UCLA. No problem with that. Only thing is it''s December 17. CFB News has us in the Texas vs Okie State. Blah. Don't mind the Texas Bowl, but would rather play Oklahoma or Baylor. Then, Buckeyes Wire only did Big 10 projections, and has us in the ReliaQuest vs Purdue. Personally, I think ND is going to the Gator. The Gator wants South Carolina and this match up bad. If SC agrees to the Gator, they haven't been in 35 years and have been to Tampa 5 times since then, I think we get either Purdue or Illinois in the ReliaQuest. If SC wants Tampa, then we get ND in the Gator.

Who knows .... the citrus picks and then the sec and schools get together to determine who goes to which "pool of six"

So in other words the sec views the pool six as all the same. My guess, given State fans poor attendance, it will be Houston. Since we played in Memphis last year.

If State goes to Houston, Ole Miss better be in the Liberty. The Texas is the prime time game after the Liberty. That already means a team with no more than 7 wins got the Gator if its LSU Citrus and UCock Tampa.

Why even entertain the Vegas bowl? Its a full week before Christmas and should be hosting a 6-6 Arky or 6-6 Gator. That is 13 days after the bowl announcements, little time to prepare

PGHBulldogBG

LSU probably in Citrus Bowl after their performance against aTm, although I’m not sure who the 12th big would go too. LSU and Kstate are the 3 highest 3 loss teams. They both probably lose their conference title game. I can’t see a 4 loss team going to the NY6 but it might happen if they pick one or them over 3 loss Pac 12 Utah, UCLA, Oregon teams
Playoff: UGA, Michigan, TCU, Ohio St
Other NY6: Washington, Bama, Tenn, Tulane, USC, Clemson, Penn State and ?

I still think that plays into our bowl game. If LSU does sneak in there then it should put us in the Outback and USCe in Citrus. If LSU doesn’t go NY6 we fall to one of the lower tier bowls. I’m pretty sure Outback still gets next best behind Citrus

We are requesting the gator bowl because the opponent is going to be Notre dame and it’s on a Friday instead of a Monday when everyone has to go to work the next day (Outback/reliaquest). The problem is that South Carolina has Tampa fatigue and they want to go to Jacksonville too and their fanbase is going to travel much better than ours. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. I would rather play notre dame in Jacksonville on a Friday than Illinois in Tampa on a Monday, but Tampa weather will be much nicer. Our crowd will definitely be much better in Jacksonville just because of the date and opponent though.

Dawgology

Update: looks like South Carolina is going to request Gator Bowl because their fans are tired of going to Tampa and they want to play Notre Dame. Expect the gator bowl to also request South Carolina. That matchup is now likely. That will more than likely put us in Tampa to play Illinois in the reliaquest bowl. Our next most likely destination would be Nashville. Third most likely would be Houston.

Yea other than the opponent I would much rather go to Tampa. Much better location. The date kind of sucks for a lot of people in Tampa, but for me personally I’m gonna be able to make it. According to David Murray, the South Carolina administration wants Tampa but the fanbase is vehemently against going back to Tampa again so they are gonna request Gator bowl as their #1 and they will for sure get it. I don’t see the conference letting anyone jump us for Tampa. Ole Miss just went to Tampa 2 years ago and we are a more attractive bowl opponent. They aren’t going to allow a 6 loss florida to jump us in my opinion.
