Because it has been used up to this point as a baseball jersey logo.
If you look at the official branding website, it is under acceptable baseball logos.

I think an interlocking MSU would look much better.

I'm fine with STATE as branding but I think the font would work better as block lettering instead of cursive.

We are slowly transitioning to using the STATE brand more and more. The first time I remember noticing it was a while back with the Leach "Animal House" pullover and now a lot of the coaches/players wear them.

I would like to see what variations of STATE we can come up with outside of the script one. Can anyone read cursive anymore?

These look great. Much better than the white ones and waaaayyyy better than our usual helmets.

Since we are not on TV nor do we have a coachs show plus we probably will not be featured on SEC nation someone please post some pics of it!
BTW why don't we have a coaches show? I think Croom was the last to do one.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like the maroon pants, or even gray pants; just not a fan of all-white.

That would work too. I’m just not a fan of white helmets. Need to keep the maroon scripts helmet all the time and just change uniforms for home or away.

The rumor is it will be used next year as part of the 25th anniversary of the 1998 SEC West team and/or as a throwback logo like the Flying-M and walking bully a couple of years ago.
