Glad to see it finally happen. I was wondering if it would ever actually liftoff. I'm hoping I can watch people land on Mars in my lifetime the same way others got to watch them land on the moon. This is a big step in that direction.

It's huge rocket. A friend took this launch picture two blocks from my house. For reference - I'm 230 miles from the Cape. You could barely see shuttle launches from here, but you sure can see ARTEMIS

Absolutely!! Great day for a lot of people watching her fly! My wife (State Aero Eng.) is also in Huntsville at MSFC (Jennifer Franzo) with the Artemis program... Great day and HAILSTATE!

I'll admit to being a little worried about this launch, after having the vehicle left out in the storm and having some damage. But it was just paranoia apparently - everything went perfectly. Really glad to see it go off.

For those that don't know, Mississippi State has a HUGE amount of engineers here in Huntsville supporting NASA.

Same at Stennis Space Center. Many, many MSU alum who played a huge role in the program. Johnson and Kennedy have fewer, but still a good many alum. MSU has a very large presence throughout NASA as a whole.

What they just accomplished was not easy. It took a little longer than desired, but that's the way the Government/NASA does it. Don't forget, this was the first launch of a brand new vehicle, and once it launched, it went extremely well. These new commercial players are great - SpaceX, RSI, Rocket Lab, Blue Origin, etc. They can do things a giant Government organization can never do. But, don't forget, they all suffered through explosions, lost vehicles, failed launches, failed tests, etc. with their new vehicles and subsystems too. For the first launch of a new vehicle to successfully make it into orbit...that's no small feat.
