Tulu goes too far down the field, too quickly.

Don?t we all feel like his 2 targets a game is too much already? I would much rather see us spread the ball around than hit someone deep because no one is as fast as him.

Rogers can't see him.

Rogers has no field vision at all. He panics when he realizes four guys are rushing instead of the 3 in the drop 8.

Didn’t he drop the sure fire TD against Bama?

Wasn’t really a question, I know the answer. He is buried on the depth chart at WR for a reason. Best he could do would be sweep or end arounds. He has not been useful because he has a problem with catching the ball.

Not sure if Justin Brown is an outside or inside WR, but he is enrolling early. He will be a factor in the WR rotation next year.
Throwing that in this thread that we have some young WRs coming and/or being redshirted who will catch the ball.

Tulu will get drafted and make a decent living as a return specialist.

One 60 yard chunk equals 60 yards. Twelve 5 yard check downs equals 60 yards. The spread around bull shit is a variety of participants receiving check downs, swing passes, and shallow crosses. Players get chunks, participants get garbage pittances.

It's criminal that we don't design plays to get the ball in his hands.

Kiffin would have field day with a player like Tulu

Having 11 players catch passes, including RB's, is too many in a rotation, especially where most are short and intermediate routes. Most WR's are prima donna types who want the long ball. Our O is very predictable and often boring even when it doesn't disappear for a quarter or two. Our WR room along with the QB room will see many hit the portal at season's end. JMO.

When we play a good defense, we have to have some chunk plays. Better having some dropped balls with him than a 100% catch rate on balls that are short of the 1st down marker.

And it's painfully obvious to everyone. It's a no brainer. It's stuff like this that's really pissing me off about Leach and the coaches. You keep your play makers on the field.

If we get within 30 yds of the endzone Sat WR needs to at least put on Att in it, preferably to Caleb. Otherwise WR you got your records and sit for someone not afraid to "air" it out.

If you have a son who is a top receiver recruit would you even listen to an offer from Leach?? I wouldn't.

The NFL doesn't draft return specialist, especially now that the majority of kicks are touchbacks.

I didn’t say he would be drafted. I said he was going to make some money returning kicks.

How fast is Tulu? It's obvious he's fast but he doesn't seem to be running away from a lot of people. On kickoff return he seems to have instinct to find a hole and he certainly has some quickness and burst.
I just don't see reverses or jet sweeps working with him because SEC defenses are full of freak athletes.
He seems to be a perfect fit as an inside/slot guy.

Decarlos Nicholson is legit 4.5 and even faster somedays and i asked him a few weeks ago if Tulu was faster and this is a quote "Aye, mane, he got me".

Pretty obvious to me that Tulu may be the fastest on the team, or one of the 2 or 3 fastest.

Lol Tulu would be absolutely deadly in a jet sweep. He's quicker than he is fast, but he's both. He's an extremely unusual talent for MSU football.

Thanks. It's just hard to tell watching a game.
My friend's kid played at Gulf Coast with Decarlos. It was obvious when I watched him that he was P5 material but the SEC is a different animal. I'm looking forward to him getting his shot and showing everybody.

Youre welcome and Me too. DC is one of mine and I'm excited to see what he can do. If he could've hit better he would've been a heckuva baseball player. He was an absolute terror on the bases. He stole home one time and slid across the plate before the ball even got to the catcher. Now it was off a lefty but still, never seen that before in all my years in baseball. Decarlos is at full speed first step too, doesn't take him anytime to get going.

Decarlos told me Tulu is the fastest.

Kinda figured he was probably the fastest. He's got some serious wheels.

Not so easy to "get him the ball" as everyone might think tho. He fumbled the punt the other night with folks barreling down on him ... got lucky and recovered it. And I'm guessing he is inconsistent catching the ball, especially in traffic. Receivers also gotta block too. He probably ain't doing those 2 things that good yet, and he should be by now. Just a guess.

We caught the ball real well last year until EB. Since then, we've dropped one here and there more than we did last year. At least that is my perception. Not sure why. Will isn't quite as precise with throws either IMO this year. He goes thru spurts (on/off) more. These are all just my perceptions ... I'd have to rewatch everything to see for sure if I'm right about all of that.

Lane Train will figure out how to use Tulu next season

Well Heath is averaging 54 yds/game vs 40 last year. Not a huge jump there. Lane does do a good job of running/running/running then designing plays for him where he's wide open. Haven't paid too much attention to how he's blocking this year and only watch OM a couple of times.

He had a few yards against LSU tho ... probably cause they were focused on shutting down the run, which they did. Mingo is the guy that hurts folks.

Heath has the physical tools but he's not really a guy that you design plays for. Tulu is explosive enough that you find ways to get him the ball. Hell, even Bama I think would have to find ways to use him this year since their WRs are not as good as usual.

Tulu is a great return man, I think he is valuable to our team, but he has dropped more touchdown passes than I can remember. Why is it that around the endzone he bobbles them away? Is it nerves?
