Losing to them speaks volumes to where we are as a program. Took several horrendous calls against Mizzou for them to escape with a win

Also, that roughing the kicker call at the end was maybe one of the worst calls Ive ever seen. If the tackle box indeed extends that far back then someone wrote the rule wrong. If it?s snapped 30 yards over the punters head then it should be a live ball

Really Clark?

It was the correct call. The tackle box is horizontal but can back as far as you want. If he had left the tackle box to rugby kick it, then he would have lost his protection. Regardless of whether the ball touches the ground from the snap over his head or short in front of him. The rule is to protect the kicker. Once he picked it up and turned to punt the ball, he is a kicker immediately at that point and is protected.

Apparently you're correct, but that's a horrible rule. Once it's over his head, he should be considered a runner.

I tend to think the best adjustment to the rule would be to make a sort of halo rule where if ball has touched the ground from the snap and you are 3 yards away from the kicker, then he is a kicker and protected, if he is attempting to kick the ball inside the tackle box.

In the sec,Outside the top 2 or 3 and Vandy at the bottom it's "any given Saturday" as to who wins.
