View Full Version : Week 7 Prediction Thread-Still Salty About the 09 SEC Tourney Edition

Well another week, another big game. So is life in the SEC. We need to treat this like we treated the Zona game, A BUSINESS TRIP. We can not let them get into our heads and commit dumb penalties like 18 or completely forget how to play offense like we did in 20. We need to throw haymakers early and often and in the words of Coach Yost, BLITZ ALL NIGHT. Dawgs 42-Cats 24. Rollin into TTown 6-1.

Rogers-405 yds
Johnson/Marks- 105 yds combined
Amount of times they mention Levis injury: 4838593

For the 3rd straight week, my prediction:

Us: Enough.
Them: Less.

We take command and get to sit back and enjoy watching a comfortable win for the 3rd week in a row.
Hail State!

You know that is 49 points right? Either way I like it.

As I said earlier this week we will win 46-10.

7 TD we miss the first PAT and leach scraps it and just goes for two with the next 6 TDS getting 2 of them. 46-10.

BTW: I watched the replay of the AR game last night and regarding PAT, I think we have holder issues for the most part. I am back to drawing up for every PAT/FG attempt, just like last year. Get JWS for a volunteer consultant for kicking game! ( Maybe % wasn't really that great in his days, but he was just like Ronald Reagan and made me feel better about things!) Hail State!

Definitley the biggest issue is our holder. I went back and watched every Raybon kick and every miss he's kicking the laces, every other time a good hold and he's dead center.

Must of hit my head more than a certain QB or I've been watching too much CFL. But 7 time 6 equals 42 is what my abicus says and with our kicker situation it may be 56 with the 2pt Conversions.

Very similar to last year... not sure who our holder was but a lot of those misses were on him and not the kicker

I can buy holding issues, but you also have to pay attention to where the kickers hips are facing and his complete follow through of his kicking leg. You can have a pretty sucky hold to be honest and if the kickers mechanics are good the ball at least on a PAT will more than likely go in.

please note to all on this board. Kicking laces does not affect a ball and the direction that it goes. Every kicker kicks below the lace mark of the ball, especially at the college level. Go look at a football and hold it like a holder would and think if you kick the laces what is the trajectory of where that ball is going? It is definitely not at a what 70 degree climb. At best it?s skimming the back of the center if not drilling him a new butt hole.

I just finished watching the Arkansas replay. I think our offense was awesome. For all the Kellenburgers that want to point out the almost interceptions by Will I think only one was really a risk. The pass to Robinson was bobbled and dropped. The TD to Walley should be considered a great throw by our QB and great concentration by our WR. An interception would have been a great play by the DB. We've been on the opposite side of too many of these plays to not give credit where credit is due.
On the pass to Calvin in the end zone the db did get his hands on the ball but if he could catch that would mean he should be a receiver.
Will did have the one pass when the safety ran through the receiver and should have had the pick.
Also, Austin Williams had 3 catches and I believe all 3 were first downs and/or tds.
Go back and take a look at Tulu's only catch and see how big it was.
Our biggest issues were giving up big plays on defense. I think Hornsby's first big run caught us off guard because of his speed. We also had some receivers run open.
I think if we can limit their offense even with Levis in there we should win this one something like 42-10.

We are always going to give up big plays on defense. It's part of the risk/reward of the 3-3-5 defense. Those of us around for the JLD 3-3-5 know it all too well. The flip side is we are going to make big plays on D - which we are seeing more and more of.
And just think, we only have 2 real years of recruiting for this defense. If we can keep Arnett, it just going to keep getting better.

The only thing about the "almosts" I care about is that Rogers uses it to improve. That's it.

We really need to focus on keeping our people. Raise the pay of all those under Leach. We were willing to pay the other guy above 6 million. Surely we have more than that at this point to share the love. It's been half a decade! Arnett should be in the million plus. Everybody here needs a raise and be shown the due respect.

we are pulling in at least 3.5 million per home game just in tickets. Our TV contracts... come on. We can pay and we need to make it known to our staff that we want them here.

Man, living in Mobile was awesome given how quickly you could be in Biloxi. I rode over there to play some blackjack the week after we defeated the defending national champion LSU Tigers. Decided to place $300 on State versus Arky. It did not go well. Lol.

Well as of this morning the verdict is in, we did a pretty good job last week on our prediction. We average out that state would win 39-21.

This week we average out to State winning 38-19.

I?ll take it, get us all our extra point and a field goal made and matches our season points average.

On the same train of thought, except unfortunately we can't make 5 XPs. So, 37-21. We miss a FG, make another, in route to 37-7 lead. Then KY gets a couple in the 4th.
