Remember when he was the most coveted assistant coach in CFB? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

He'll be back as a DC somewhere pretty soon.

Yep. That hire was about 10, maybe even 15 years too late. If he wasn't going to move up around the time that Mullen went to us he was going to be past his expiration date.

Sooner fans are NOT happy. Go read some of their boards. They'd better learn to play D before they get in the SEC. Honestly, they don't scare me too much. Texas on the other hand I think is trending up.

For more than once, he was mentioned on this page as a wanted man for the State job.

I learned my lesson after declaring leach a flop after 1 season. I'll give venables a couple seasons to judge him.

But isn't Oklahoma running pretty much the same offense?

I did too. On the other hand, Leach has been a HC for a long time. I don't think Venerables was ever a HC. Could make a difference.

I know, but isn't it close to what they were already running?

I admit to that. But, in my defense, it was mostly to enjoy being an ass to my UGA friends by calling him Ray Goff 2.0

He will get one more year and then OU will bring over Kiffen if kiffen is still at Ole Miss next year

Some times you are a career assistant coach because that is your ceiling and nothing wrong with that in several professions. Why we even hired a career NFL RB coach to be our HC. After an almost total failure he was fired and went back to........................... an NFL RB coach. Won't go into JOMO. Head coaching hires in college are a crap shoot indeed. Hail State!

Especially if they have zero head coaching experience.

^^^^^^This^^^^^^ No major program should hire a head coach with Zero head coaching experience. You are more likely to get a Croom than you are a Mullen.

Lincoln Riley knew that roster wasn’t prepared for SEC play. So he left and took some of the best players with him. Oklahoma better get ready, life comes at you even harder when you get in our league soon.

They'll certainly have a tough adjustment, but being a part of the sec is gonna make them even more attractive to big time recruits. They're a storied football program, and I don't see them just falling off for too long

There are examples pro and con for hiring an assistant just like there are hiring experience. For the vast majority of hires, it's like trying to hit a 3-team parlay

It?s not .

Lincoln Riley?s offense is a ? modified air raid ? , Lincoln coached under Mike Leach a couple of years at Texas tech.

Jeff Lebby offense is Ole Miss?s , it?s a super run heavy offense with 2 read RPO?s whether to throw it 60 yards over the top or hit the Slant route or take off an run.

Quinn Ewers at texas is the real deal.

I don?t know how arch can be better than that guy. Texas would be a national title contender if Ewers never got hurt in the bama game. That?s the best QB in college.

If you're right about Ewers, he'll be gone after next season, so shouldn't be a deal for arch

So they have a super easy one read offense and still can't score on B12 defenses. Yikes.
