And I think it is a direct impact of the transfer portal. Soooo many programs are fielding teams with all new faces throughout their starting lineup or lost some due to transfer. It?s reminiscent of the old days when teams tried to stack their rosters with JC transfers and often suffered for it.

Agreed. This is where teams that recruit HS players and build traditionally have a big advantage early. I think the chemistry issues you create with Arizona or LSUs approach are unpredictable and potentially disastrous. You can use the portal to fill in weak spots or grab a great player.......but bringing in 50 free agents is going to be a mess.

This is why all star teams are never strong as a true team that’s played together for years.
