I think they used to play though just about anything. The first time I remember a lightning delay was a Va Tech game 10 or 15 years ago. We delayed a game with Troy State one time in the early 2000s but that was because of a tornado warning. But delaying for lightning is probably the wise choice.

Dead on. I was about to say how much better calls we get from non-SEC officials than we do from our own conference officials. I absolutely feel that a lot of SEC officials, besides being fairly incompetent, have personal biases that affect the way they call games. That's the reason you don't see Alabama getting blatantly bad calls even with SEC officiating.

Us running in the TD against this weak ass memphis D was obviously easy. We're working on testing the pass plays that we'll need to run against actual defenses that can stymie our push. At this point we've entered "we're way physically better territory and need to fine tune execution / show looks for other teams to be scared of."

This is a really good first game (so far). Doing a lot of good things. Not perfect though, so a lot to learn and work on in the film room this week. Luckily Memphis doesn't seem to have the skills necessary to make us pay for our mistakes (most of them have been pretty small anyway). A good half of football so far that will serve as a good springboard into the next couple of games.
