In 2022, the MLB overall average is .243 batting average, .312 OBP, and .396 slugging. Hunter is hitting .251 with .302 OBP and .522 slugging. He has 19 homers in just 68 games played. The two stints on IR because of hamstring and calf have hurt his overall numbers.

I?m happy for him. I think he needs a new agent. His numbers are above average and needs to be treated as such. Also his mom and my wife worked together for years. I have his autographed ball on my mantel next to one of Bruce Castoria?s home run balls and Coach Lemonis?s autographed ball.

Last year, the MLB averages were .244/.317/.411. Hunter hit .259/.315/.501 for the year. So Hunter hits for average and he hits for power when compared to the rest of the league.

Good for Hunter. But those averages are abysmal. Ever since the focus became the Long Ball and Strikeouts and low BAs be damned, the game just isn?t as fun.
