I'm really excited about Texas-aTm playing again. I can remember these 2 playing on thanksgiving when I was young, and I loved watching that game.

Interesting. I figured we'd get Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Auburn, but Texas A&M also makes sense as a replacement for either of the last 2.

Anyway, we are 5-5 against them since they joined the SEC, and Mike Leach always had their number. So I like it.

Our luck it’s going to be Ole Miss, A&M and Bama

We'll have ole miss and Kentucky with the third being A&M or Auburn.

We are nowhere near Alabama's preferred top 3. Alabama is very likely to get Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU, but if they don't get one of those, we're not next up for them.

If this is legit, we've got Ole Miss, A&M, and either Kentucky or Auburn as our third.

Either this means we are in a pod with this group and oh lord who knows from there....or

A&M becomes a permanent opponent along with Mississippi. Meaning who knows who will be the 3rd for us.

I think pods are dead.

I hear ya- so that means our permanent opponents are A&M and Mississippi plus another.

Good, they are nowhere near ours either.

The best part about that means we won't always have to play on Thanksgiving. It absolutely sucks when we do that.

Amen. I'm completely on board with an Ole Miss, Kentucky, A&M pod. Getting Alabama out of the rotation gives us a chance at a big year every now and then.

The rumor is that the scheduling formula would have two informal tiers. Everyone would get two permanent opponents from their own tier and 1 from the other tier.

TIER 1: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M
TIER 2: Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

I was thinking our most likely set was Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Auburn, but Texas A&M also works in place of Auburn. This is assuming this tier pattern holds, which hasn't been named officially.

A lot of A&M fans were wondering why wouldn't get Arkansas, but I'm betting Arkansas got Texas as their Tier 1 permanent, meaning they aren't available to be A&M's Tier 2. It's going to be tough to make everyone happy, so they'll end up making Alabama, Georgia, and Texas happy and everyone else will just get to "fine, I can live with that."

Ah. So they've basically regulated the SEC? I'm sure the SEC remembers our 1998-1999 schedule and want to avoid a school like MSU having to play Vanderbilt, a then 1-10 South Carolina, and Kentucky.

A&M played LSU every year up until the 1dt SEC Expansion.

I'm all for this change. After approx 60 years of watching in person, I am very tired of going years (many), without playing many of the teams from the "East". One reason why our overall W-L record is so bad is that we have played bama more than any other team I think. OM refused to to play them in the Vaught years, thus their inflated W-L record and multiple, mythical National Championships from "Better Homes and Gardens" magazine. Don't get me starting on LT selling so many of our home games over the years. At least he gave us the "Templeton Troughs". ( When my son was very young, He did remark, "Wow Dad, we get to pee in the floor!"). Hail State!

Lose the rivals and rotate everyone to play each other. TX and OU are about to find out as AR did?there is a reason that their record will not be as good in the SEC as it was on the SWC or Big XII. They will be fine, but there will be more losses.

Like I said a few days ago, get ready for 2 loss SEC Champions after uT and Ou join the league. 10-2 overall and 7-2 SEC isn?t really that bad.
