Notre Dame walked into an absolute hornets nest last year, despite what their media and the Tennessee media are trying to make everyone think. This crowd is nothing compared to 14K. Literally double the amount of people, and trust me the niceties went out the window at first pitch of Game 1 last year. So they are plenty prepared for Tennessee fans. They also know if they win today and can get up tomorrow that crowd will be dead. Their entire athletic Dept is nothing but front runners.

You can’t show up an ump like that. If your gonna complain, face the pitcher and complain. Don’t look the up right in the face and tell him he is 17 horrible multiple times.

Then the pitching coach literally ran to the home plate ump and threw a tantrum. Vitello was actually calm. He was just asking who? Who? Then Gilbert was so astonished he got ejected. Like bitch what did you expect?

Even if they lose, I still say he's the best. What he's done at Tenn is amazing. He's a total douche though, and I hope he does lose. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the best team in baseball (college and pro) doesn't win with championships any consistency. It's almost always who gets hot at the right time.

So far, better winning % than Polk, augie, Corbin, and casey. Hell, he has a better winning % at tenne-freaking-see than mainieri did at LSU. Martin and Bertman are the only greats that I can think of that have a better winning % than Vitello so far. Look, I get it, he's a huge douche. He's a punk. He's also a super talented coach that is doing an amazing job at a school with no history in the best baseball conference in the country. I wouldn't say they have no history. They were pretty good under Delmonico in the 1990s and early 2000s. He got them to 3 CWS, 8 regionals, and won 3 SEC titles in 20 years.

Yea, if ND wins I guess they should do a victory lap around the field shooting the bird at all the TN fans. Apparently that is acceptable behavior these days. I still can't believe the TN player that did that didn't get ejected and suspended. If a football player in the SEC did that, a sport where emotions run much higher, he would have been penalized and ejected from the game and likely suspended. Not sure how the TN player got by with his actions with no consequences.

He hit .293/21 HR in 2019 and .273/18 HR in 2021 at Samford.

It's not missing context at all. I mean, obviously there was no way anyone would know he would hit .400 in the SEC, but the dude produced throughout his career.

We've taken transfers who have produced far less prior to coming here.

It was a mistake not to take him. Now if you argue that we didn't really have a team need for his position, that's a different argument.

But statistically, there's plenty of context.

41 HRs in SoCon and about the same per-season run production as RJ Yeager, also from the SoCon

Glad MSU got Yeager, who had 27 HRs in the SoCon in 3 full seasons. Big boy got his 41 in just 2 full seasons

ESPN interviewer says that SEC strike zones are tighter, so DiChiara only swings at preferred pitches at Auburn. That's his secret to a 400 average and leading the SEC in Walks

Would've been great to have Sonny and hindsight is always 20/20 but we already had a 1B and With Hines coming in as a 1B/DH I'm sure the staff figured we had needs at other positions instead of carrying 3 guys that could only play 1B or DH. As I said hindsight is always great.

So we play for the NC in 2013, then Ole Miss goes to Omaha in 2014.

We win a NC in 2021, and now Ole Miss is going to Omaha in 2022.

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Same. He had a big arm but the bat was just ok. He's got a ton of XBH this year. Good for him!

I'm proud for him too. I think he's 5th in country in doubles with 26. Always loved the way he played.

Damn Southern. Not only haven’t scratched a single run in fifteen innings but haven’t had a single leadoff guy on. In your home park.

Baseball, man. And things could all-the-sudden flip on a dime. Maybe OM makes a big error or usm get a blooper that changes the whole game

There’s always possible. But the foreshadowing is strong.

UM gonna shut out the mustard buzzards two in a row. We're gonna regret not getting Hunter Elliott from Tupelo. Kid is good and only going to get better and we've got to face him for the next two years.

Why is a 300 lb woman on a Gatorade commercial talking about fitness? Are they selling that as fit?

My take with 3 outs left for USM:
They were seriously over rated as they dominated a weak conference.
They can't hit SEC pitching.
They can't win no matter how many their pitchers strike out if they can't score even one run.
OM drew a weak opponent in their super regional.
Oh, well. Can OM beat other SEC teams in Omaha?

They scored 8 runs a game vs lsu. As much as it pains us, gonna have to give OM credit. OM's playing their best baseball at the right time

Southern just not competitive this weekend. Maybe next year.

Ole Miss gonna win it all. They will have a cakewalk to the Championship Series.

Big difference between winning meaningless mid week games and winning a Super Regional.

I've said it all season, USM was overrated. LSU had USM beat but their pitching ran out because they weren't great either. OM is will go flounder at Omaha. Probably win a game but that's about it.

Yeah. No one is betting real money on that. Unless they don’t really need it.

Market niche. Selling Gatorade to 300 lb women. :)

This. Usm didn't really hit all year. Yeah they hit some hrs but had low averages and low obps. They won with pitching in a weak conference and berry is not a great coach to begin with and especially not good in post season.

Yep. You can be fit at 300 pounds but if that's the case you're also probably playing offensive or defensive line in the NFL or a professional body builder.

But you know if it encourages overweight people to exercise that's cool.

People think I'm into sports because I'm a man. But I'm not into sports. I like Gatorade, but that's about as far as it goes. By the way, you don't have to be sweaty and play basketball to enjoy Gatorade. You can just be a thirsty dude. Gatorade forgets about this demographic!
