For now, I assume SS. I would prefer to use him as a utility guy.

He was fueled by BABIP this year but will be a very good upgrade at SS even with regression. Better hope you didn't overpay for a .374 BABIP year going into age 32 season.

I think they are going to overpay simply because they have no choice. If it doesn't work out- sign JJ Hardy next year.

Yeah- they were wanting Shelby Miller, Matt Adams, Carlos Martinez, etc. I would much rather overpay on Peralta than overpay in prospects on Tulo or Andrus.

If it were me, I'd try to sign Barrennuala from Cuba, send him to AA or AAA and see how he does offensively. Getting Peralta will give the Cardinals more leverage in a trade as well.
