I am more perplexed that we have fans who give full credit for last year to Lemonis and say we were due for a rebuild. Championship programs don?t rebuild, they reload. The lack of pitching depth is squarely on Lemonis and Foxhall recruiting and evaluating poorly.

I understand that coaches get too much credit for success and too much blame for failure sometimes, but the common denominator between the two seasons is the guy sitting in the corner on the ball bucket.

There should also now probably be an asterisk by last year since Covid provided and expanded roster and we were able to keep 17 pitchers whereas, this year back to normal roster size, we were back to 13 for The Weeknd series with 3 of them injured. Maybe, dual position players will be the way of the future. 2 or 3 Guys that can play in the field, hit well and give you 2 or 3 innings of shut down pitching when needed. Nearly every kid that plays baseball at the high school level and pitches is usually also one of the best overall players too. Time to get back to finding those guys to fill out a roster.
