Seems everyone agrees he sucked by reading headlines. It's a shame people can suck at their job so badly and make millions a year.

I wonder if Emmert will go ahead and slap the wrist of LSU before he splits or will he chance leaving potential sanctions to the incoming president.

The reason Mark Emmert had to leave the NCAA is his misconduct on many issues. Under his leadership, he oversaw the sanctions levied against USC. Because of the court proceedings with Todd McNair, the NCAA mainframe was accessed. In house emails were introduced into evidence against the NCAA. The evidence was released to the public which means any time litigation is brought against the NCAA, court clerks and opposition council can identify the character of the organization. The NCAA has a rap sheet that will stick to them for years to come.

Under Mark Emmert, the NCAA somehow got one of their appellate councils on the Todd McNair jury. This appointee somehow worked his way to be the jury foreman who tainted the trial. The Courts caught wind of this activity and ordered a new trial. After exposure, the NCAA under Emmert, appealed the new trial order. The appellate court ruled that the new trial will proceed and that the NCAA was to pay the legal cost to the plaintiff beforehand. This was a sobering shot across the bow that the Courts were not going to let the NCAA do their usual stall tactics.

Under Mark Emmert, the NCAA settled with Todd McNair to avoid the upcoming legal massacre lying in Waite. This settlement was a defacto admission of guilt in regards to setting up McNair to sanction USC in regards to Reggie Bush benefits that his mother and stepfather received.

Under Mark Emert, the NCAA has a bad social and legal image; rap sheet. This image was absorbed by the legal system right up to a 9-0 ruling by the SCOUS on NIL. Add the administration of punishing an innocent Todd McNair and not punishing a guilty University of North Carolina academic scandal and there you go?
