They have lost 11 players to the portal and the other 2 scholarship players to the NBA. They have lost all 4 committed players for the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes. 0 scholarship players are left. Their entire basketball team and commitments are completely wiped out.

Of course it's a new era of college sports so it will be interesting to see how long it takes them to crawl out of this hole. Might not take long at all.

Serves em right but there'll be a lot of transfer players that jump at the chance to get playing time at an sec school. Like you said it's a different era!

Before the portal and immediate eligibilty, this would have been a 10 year rebuild. We saw what Iowa State did this year. Went from 2-22 last year to sweet 16.

Yep not to long ago this would've wiped a program out for a long time, now not so much. Hardly any consequences any more.

The new coach is really starting from a deficit. I think Howland did a poor job as far as on the court coaching, but if Jans can keep most of the guys from last year, he has a solid base. I am excited to see what he can do with a guy like Shakeel Moore or DJ Jeffries because they have some talent (if they have not transferred without my knowledge).

They have Justice Hill and Trae Hannibal transferring in from Murray State. They won't be winning the SEC anytime soon but they will be competitive.

I believe McMahon is fine starting with a clean slate. I would too.

Watch how fast he gets that thing going down there.

Maybe we did but there are several of their players we should've tried to pick up.....Shaq's son is not a superstar but the name alone and his Dad's clout should've been a enough to attract some attention, especially if Davis is leaving as some have speculated.

These guys have just entered the portal, they haven't transferred anywhere yet.

And I don't think one year of Shaq's son barely playing will move the needle at all.

Eh They deserve it. Personally I wouldn't have hired a coach that looked like Will Wade.

At the same time though, those factors are largely what made that kind of complete exodus possible. I don't think you would have seen every single player and recruit leave in the same scenario a decade ago.

So LSU was the only school that offered him?
