One year deal. Will likely platoon with former MSU commit Corey Dickerson of Brookhaven.

IMO the Cardinals should have given him a blank check and let it be in 2011. Sometimes you have to just be romantic about baseball.

He played in the Dominican and did pretty well. Looks like he is in great shape. Hopefully he hits his 700th home run as a Cardinal this year.

I kind of figured he would either end up in St Louis or Kansas City.

Also, Dakota Hudson has been pretty nasty this spring. Absolute ground ball machine.

679 career home runs, 84 away from passing Bonds.

Dare I dream that he plays for 4 years as a DH and hits 21 HRs in each of them? If he can get the consistent ABs it's actually a fringe possibility.

Not a Bird Fan but I'll be pulling for that to happen albeit seems uphill.

Not a chance. No way he's more than a DH vs lhp

Dickerson might claim Brookhaven but he is from McComb. I grew up with his brother and yes I knew him playing stickball. He was always really good. Then again Craig always served them up to him pitching but that was here not there.

If you want Bonds record broken you better hope Trout can learn to stay healthy. Otherwise it won’t happen. Pujols won’t get there, although I really like him. He is one of the best ambassadors for the game when it comes to fan interaction. He is an outstanding person, I will for sure be rooting for him but I don’t think he breaks Bonds record.

He hit 12 HR with 189 AB last year. That's one every 15.75 vs one every 12.50 for a 40 HR year with 500 AB. Adding 10 more HR over last years stats will be a tall order with approx 200 AB per season. This one year deal just may be a Swan Song closing things out with His Bird Fans.

I want him to hit to pass Bonds, but man the dude is really old. Rumor is, he was older than 24 when he came from the DR.

Yeah Alberts not gonna pass him but it's a good thought. Alberts is a good guy and great ambassador for baseball.

Albert announced that this year will be his last. He's hoping to go into the Hall of Fame with Yadi.

He won't catch Bonds. But he could get 700 and Stan Musial's franchise record is a possibility with a big year as Albert is only 30 behind him.

Yes! He has done a lot of charity work for people with Down's Syndrome. He has a child- actually I think it's a stepchild- that has Down's Syndrome.

Yeah I've read a lot about his philanthropy and about his work ethic on the field. He's a throwback. One of the best bunters in baseball(even though he doesn't bunt, lol) he worked hard to become good at it and one of the best base runners in the game even though he's never been fast. He just worked at all facets of the game and work hard at it even when he didn't have to.
