The more experienced here have noted some swing issues before. My calculations show he's increased his avg to .337 by hitting .478 in 5 SEC Games. Please excuse if my manual calcs are off.
I'm seeing 29 of 86 overall and 11 of 23 in SEC Play

His swing is the same

His pitch recognition is improving.

I think he’s improving. I still don’t think he will hit 30-35 homers in 60 games as stated by one poster.

Not much one can do mid season to alter a swing. 34 is spot on that the young man's pitch recog is a bit better.

This and we need it to improve exponentially. He is one of the most “all or nothing” hitters I’ve ever seen. Even his foul balls, when he is extremely late seem to be laser beams into the dugout. He squares the ball up or k’s.

Yep. That K the inning we only got 1 via wild pitch stung like hell. He needs to improve those situations.

Welcome to baseball now. It's just the way it is in a lot of ways.

Cumbest is hot right now and he'll cool down. But he can still be great for us. He's one of those guys who is unlikely to ever make the majors but can be very good in college.

Who said that and where? I said 11 and got flack for it but whoever said 30 is nuts.

This. He?s getting better the more ABs he gets. He?s just raw and powerful. I believe he has a long future pro career and some team will take him and work on his swing. Put him in a developmental organization like the Astros and he could be a 40+ HR guy in the bigs. He has the power to do so. Just needs his swing tweaked.

This! He's not chasing as much and he's even started taking some off speed pitches opposite field which is a great sign.

I see Slappy as a Joey Gallo type big league player. Lots of home runs and strike outs.

Looks to me like he has difficulty hitting a curve ball-especially one that breaks outside.
