What are you guys hearing on Hunt? This team is one starting pitcher and one reliever stepping up away from making some noise. I'm hoping the extended rest for Hunt is just to make sure he's ready for the rest of the season.

He was warming up before the game yesterday. Throwing like he was fine. So it won’t be long

I've heard around the LSU series. Not sure if that's before or after as I suspect we'll throw him midweek most likely at first.

he will be ready in 1-2 weeks.

Actually, I have not really asked. But it does seem to be soon on his return.

Speaking of- we just walked up to our spot in LF- and Hunt is throwing a pen. As I said- won’t be long

No need to rush him at this point let him be 100% when he comes back because we're going to need him.

Could be huge.

That's my thinking as well. I love how our staff puts the players health numero uno

Hope you get to see a fun one today. I bet it's a packed house. Days like today I miss being home in Miss

They do and it's beneficial to the team and the player. We need these guys for the long haul and having them in optimal health is key. Lemonis and Foxhall handle it better than any staff I've seen.

After Hunt acclimates, where does he go? Bullpen or as a Starter?
Best thing is if we keep playing well and get to Regionals we actually depth for starting pitching or mid relief pitching.

I'm gonna need to see less goose eggs in the box score before my confidence level gets better. I Prefer 1 1 1 than 0 0 3.

Hunt has been doing that for at least two weeks now.

My opinion:

Of course it all depends on how healthy he is and how he looks. But I think they'll use him as a starter. Would allow us to move Preston back to the bullpen. Also, he was our Saturday starter to start the year so that seems to me like where the staff sees him. Either way though- if he helps in the bullpen he would be taking on the same role as Preston had last year most likely and essentially the same role as I'm talking about in this scenario.

Also speaking of bullpens- I wouldn't count Andrew Walling out quite yet either.
