Go get Chris Jans. If his team loses today, this needs to be done by the weekend.

Jans has gained a lot of steam in the past 48 hours. If he is the guy and they do not make a run then we need to have him hired by Tuesday at the latest.

Officially excited about basketball again. Let's get this right.

I appreciate all Ben did. He brought us back to respectability but it was time. I think he's tired and wish him the best. Heck, who wouldn't want to return back to Malibu with his money.

I hate to see coaches get fired, especially good ones.. Ben is a good coach but his style is outdated and we need some fresh new energy in at State. Good luck to Howland going forward

Me too. I've been waiting for this for several years.

Anybody's style would be outdated when you've got players that have a hard time making a basket from the outside.

Do we want Jans to kick ass all the way to the final four and have someone else entice him? Or do we want him to lose so we can get it done asap?

I think you would like him to win a game and then get knocked out in the Round of 32

People forget he was hired to right the ship. Which he did. He just stayed longer than he should've/

College basketball really comes down to getting the right hire that can recruit decently but more so coach well on the floor. I haven?t done enough research to know whether or not McMahon and Jans are only successful because they have a talent advantage or if it?s because they are really good coaches. Regardless, they are winning whether it?s with talent or not so they know how to be a head coach and win at the lower level. I would be very pleased with either of these hires. I would much rather hire a coach like Jans or McMahon and if they don?t work out it?s a lot better than hiring someone that hasn?t proven they can win at the head level.

I was hoping IT was gonna be Ben's decision. Makes me a little sick.

Too much money involved to "retire".

This- we got to pay him a few million to not work for us. Nobody will leave that on the table

We could hire Richard and let Ben be the New Color Guy on the radio.

We also would get to hear about the N C two A tournament. That always cracks me up when he calls it that for some reason.
