Reports coming out he?s been fired. Any truth to this?

Someone wrote it's been the second hire that Cohen gets right. We might have messed up if so.

All the MSU mouthpieces are denying it.

It's a formality that he's gone after the NIT. Someone just let it slip

He should be able to "retire"

He should be able to "retire"

I agree with this.

Maybe we let howland know he was retiring, and he wasn't ready for retirement. Perhaps he's the source on this.

You can’t retire if you plan to keep coaching.

Some journalists are just in a hurry to be 1st instead of being accurate. Everyone knows Howland is out there’s no need to be premature with your reporting.

Serious question, has Howland ever gotten a technical foul in his career? Did he just lose his fire when he arrived in Starkville?

First I’ve heard of Glenn Guilbeau but doesn’t appear he’s a hack at first glance. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as Guilbeau is claiming multiple sources with ties to the program. But makes no sense that Cohen would let Ben go. Even if Ben does not want to retire and wants to continue coaching, he would resign and no reason to think we would not encourage that. So how is it that an LSU guy is scooping everyone on the State beat. Seems like we’ve been intent on keeping this under wraps until after the NIT. But the question is why wait.

I'm hearing they already have their guy and it would be about 14 days before it's announced ...I don't know who it is I was just told that there will be a parting of the ways and that Howland was going to coach somewhere else...

Hopefully kugel doesn't follow him

Kugel wants to play big time basketball. Even if he doesn’t play at MSU he’s not following Howland.

Yeah I think Cohen has his ducks in a row. I don't think he fires Howland without a replacement. Doesn't want to have to eat words like he had to do with baseball, though that worked out for us. I'm sure he was looking for men and women's through the season. Howland probably has his team too as I'm sure he has too many connections not to know this was coming

Fourteen days would put it around the time the Final Four becomes known. Maybe this indicates that Cohen's choice is in the tourney and they're waiting for his season to end. Just speculating.

That would make sense
