So, has anyone heard for sure that Howland is retiring/resigning? Or has anyone heard for sure we are looking at going a different direction?

A former well connected politician told me that Howland was stepping down and that Cohen had 3 names to consider. Trust the politician?

Howland won’t be here whether he steps down or pushed down.

I wasn't familiar with any of them and can't remember.

Not a Howland fan but if we don?t have someone lined up give him another year and take the time to find the perfect fit.

I agree. If Howland is done I am sure we already have a good idea of who our next coach will be. I hope we take NIT bid and send Howland out a champ though. Our program in much better shape now because of him.

It?s going to be the Murray State coach or the Wichita State coach I?m hearing.

McMahon & Chris Jans from New Mexico St are the favorites. It shouldn’t get past those 2 but Todd Golden or Bob Richey are the Plan B's.

Could the MS kid at Murray be a package deal?

There are two kids from MS on their roster. Are you referring to KJ Williams? If so, I hope he would come with McMahon. He leads them in points and rebounds and is a junior this year.

We’ll accept what comes and be told to be happy about it.

That would be huge especially if we can keep Molinar, Garcia, Moore and Tolu.

I agree with IYOK that Molinar gone. Hopefully we keep tolu.

Will carter be able to make the jump to handle the point next year or do we need to hit the portal? I'm so ready to have a true point

If McMahon is the guy, wouldn't hurt to bring Tevin Brown too. Second in the team in scoring and has a 39% 3 point shooting percentage. He's from Fairhope Alabama and is also a junior.

Chris Jans would be my #1 choice. If he has interest we should hire him and pay him well.

I got a close connection to the team that told last week that big changes coming - Howland and a bunch of players leaving. True or not this is a fact from inside the team. It is either true or the sentiment from inside the team.

Don't like the sound of that. I want carter, tolu, Matthews, Jeffries, and Garcia back. I feel Jeffries has some untapped ability. I really want kugel and Hamilton also

4 or 5 guys will leave. Some due to eligibility, some to the pros, some to transfers.

I hope we don?t have many players leave if Howland retires because we have a lot of talent on this team.

I don't really care if we completely clean house. Not exactly like any have been lighting the world on fire.

You should. It took Bruce Pearl 3 years to make the tourney on a rebuild, and I doubt seriously we have a coach as talented as Pearl

Chris Jans and NM St. are on ESPNU for anyone who cares. They are up 9 at halftime.

I would love to get Jans, so I'm expecting McMahon. I can live with that, but I think Jans is better.

Why in the world would be looking at the Wichita St coach? Just because he's from Mississippi? He's already making excuses there about why they're no good.

Richey has been after the job hard. Hope it's not him but nothing will surprise me. Jan's or McMahon would be better. My confidence in John Cohen is nonexistent though.
