The Hate is strong with this one.

Maybe he needs to coach where it is easy to recruit to.

Why?? Like I am truly wondering how you can look at his past 10 years and come to that conclusion. He had a little run here from 03-08 when the conference was without a doubt the weakest it ever was and we had the benefit of divisions so we avoided most East teams and got to beat up on the crappy teams in the West. Also, he never made it out of the 1st weekend.

Not saying I would take him back. But your who holds Western Kentucky against him apparently has never heard of University of Kentucky or University of Louisville in Kentucky, Cincinnati and Xavier in Ohio, and countless other recruiting disadvantages he has had. He had a much better recruiting foot print at Mississippi State. But no, Rick Stansbury?s time at MSU has passed. Cohen will find another coach to go 18-12 at best and 14-16 at worst and we will go through another 5-6 year period with Mediocre basketball. Because, MSU is a middle of the road SEC program and the money brokers are fine with that.

Why has Western Kentucky never had this problem BEFORE Stands became their coach? Those programs didnt just begin when he landed on the WK campus. WK has 23 NCAA appearances (State has 11) - 7 since 2000. This run since 2013 is by far their biggest drought

Hmmm, it's almost like they upgraded from a very bad conference they could dominate to a much stronger one that's still just a 1-bid league!

And I didn?t even have to look up the reason. Thanks Quaoars.

Many don?t want to admit we haven?t had a solid floor coach since Williams. That?s what it takes to win big at State not recruiters

17x2=34. Was this part of the creation of C34s board name? Maybe this has been discussed before.

The puppet master with more facts...
and I said it weeks ago.. if a change is made AK should be at the top of the list for this job..

But its more of the same. AK/Rod Barnes/Rob Evans/Stans/Howland are all essentially the same coach. They all proved that decent coaches (either floor coaches or recruiters) can produce bubble teams in Mississippi.

AK may actually be better than Stans in CUSA - but we also know their history in the SEC. Bringing in AK is more of the same for MSU

Without being able to recruit, you get 'Rick Ray!'

Without recruits like Dampier & Dante Jones (thanks to Stans & Kirby) you never get to F4!

You have to do both to win in the SEC!

There's no improvement going from Howland to Kennedy. If a 7-year period with 1 (or 2) NCAAs and 4 (or 3) NITs doesn't cut it, why would a 12-year period with 2 NCAAs and 6 NITs?

You are completely discounting the difference in competing in various conferences and acting like its all the same. AK failed in the SEC, and seems to be having some early success in the CUSA. That's the end of the story. There is no AK deserves back in the SEC. Good luck to him and Stans.
