Bye Fredi????

That's the question. If he's gone, it's been a hell of a ride. I trust AA to field a great team

Man I sure hope they can somehow keep him but I agree with you.

You could make an argument Olsen plus additional pieces would make more financial and long term sense

Yep, but who those pieces are would matter

Freddie is a HUGE part of the clubhouse. Snit has came out and said that he leaned on Freddie especially when they added so many guys. Adding that many guys could blow up in your face just as easily as improving the team.

And paying a guy $30m+ when he's 38 could handicap you in the future. There's risks in every scenario.

I'd love to have Freddie back, but just saying, it might not be the end of the world if he walks

Yeah its more than just replacing his numbers. Fine line between keeping the real leader of your team and getting into a bad contract that can haunt you for years. I want to keep Freddie for sure. I hope AA can make it work where we keep Freddie and make it ok financially for the future.

No one wants to lose FF. Like KO said though, we can't get reckless with our money... we aren't the dodgers. Hopefully it works out where we can keep him

This is a deal that's perfect for the Yankees. Pay a 32 year old for a 5/6 year deal and get 2/3 good years out of him and suffer for the last 3.

With inflation that 30 million will only buy like 2 tanks of gas when Freeman is 38.

SACRILEGE DH to the NL.

Nowhere near the sacrilege and affront to basic decency as banning the shift. I may never watch another MLB game. Shifting is a big part of the draw.

Now I can get back to hoping the Cardinals make a free agent signing to put the team over the top that they never make.

I seriously hate John Mozeliak.

I don't know if I like it or not, but I'll give it a chance. I didn't like the DH until the Covid season, and then I saw it, and I loved it

The DH probably gives Freddie another year or so of higher productivity. Give him some off games at DH to save some wear and tear.

Banning the shift is crap. Although hitters should adjust on their own.

As mentioned the Braves should sign Freddie for his value off the field as much as on it. These younger guys NEED someone like Freddie. If they’re serious about optimizing this current young nucleus over the next 3-4 years they have to sign him. Even if they over pay.

Freddie is also very marketable. The Braves can make money off of Freddie that they wouldn't from Olson or whomever they sign to replace him if needed.
