Leggett isn’t big, but he’s very athletic and smart. He can field well and be a pest on the base paths. He can handle the bat better than Forsythe.

Saturday?s handwringing was warranted. Unbelievably poor coaching and pitching lead to a colossal collapse of epic proportions.

Sunday game was a good matchup and they got the hits to tie it and win it. But it may have been a little bit of a hangover due to how Saturday?s game was lost.

State is 7-6 and nearly out of the Top 25 and should be 9-4 and firmly in the Top 10-12.

It's impossible to know how injuries and a loss of leadership will shape a team early on, is all I'm saying. It's a long season, and who knows how we'll look in June. Tonight was certainly reassuring.

Front is supposed to post up between New Orleans and Destin and dump some rain most of the day. Already raining hard here off and on. Looking iffy at this point.

As for Saturday, witnessing a meltdown like that in person is personally demoralizing. Go from looking at a blowout to walking out with a walkoff loss is rough. That a day after losing one of the best pitchers in college baseball, it can take it's toll. This game definitely helped everything all around. The young and new guys are stepping up.
