The offense always had a chance to be dicey - James has been really streaky, Mule and some others have some pretty long swings.

The hope was that LoTan and Hackcock and then Yeager could be consistent and hope the other guys never all slumped at the same time.

I?ve been a tad worried that in recruiting we focused on combine number high ceiling guys and not enough just good baseball player types that may not have elite measurables.

There isn?t a real reason we shouldn?t have a high contact, OBP fast guy for lead off.

Same thing with our arms - we can sling it but most of them aren?t real good with accuracy or working hitters as they?ve always just been able to throw 90+ smoke by guys

Like I said in a few game threads. This team does not appear to even be skimming through the scouting reports for each game. The ABs, approach and swings all show that for someone who has studies scouting reports and learned to hit like a pitcher thinks. Corder, Hines and Downs are really the only ABs and approaches this far that even suggest they are reading the scouting reports.

Not sure the reason. Arrogance or NC hangover. They better wake up and realize talent doesn?t beat anyone. Preparation, work and doing the small things well wins at this level. Coastal Carolina is the prime example.

The fact that Cumbest hasn?t moved his hands closer to his body and a few inches back in his stance tells me we either do not have a mechanical hitting coach or the players do what they want. Give me a few weeks with Slappy and he?d make a lot of money one day.

Watching Corder, he?s had a mechanical hitting coach at some point. Probably Juco. Nice stance and hand placement for maximum contact. His takes also suggest a technical hitting coach. Watch the controlled takes vs uncontrolled takes/bad swings among the hitters and you will see a pattern.

Watching Corder, he?s had a mechanical hitting coach at some point. Probably Juco. Nice stance and hand placement for maximum contact. His takes also suggest a technical hitting coach. Watch the controlled takes vs uncontrolled takes/bad swings among the hitters and you will see a pattern.
