Latest HRRR is showing discrete supercells developing along the I-55 corridor around 2:00pm and moving east northeast. The squall line will be following along behind it. These discrete cells will be your biggest tornado threat and I'm thinking main threat area will be east of 55 and north of 20. This will all be conditional on how much instability can work in ahead of the system. The morning rain and cloud cover is limiting this recovery but dew points are already around 60 along the 82 corridor. HRRR is thinking the target area will end up with 68 dew points which is enough to make things interesting. Chase mode is activated as this area could see some tornadoes with one or two being strong.

Do you think this will mostly impact the center section, of the state, the northern third, or both? And, thank you.

Severe threat anywhere north of I-20. Biggest tornado threat NE and east central part of the state.

Your travel plans are always during these storms. You might as well go into the chasing business as well.

Thank God that I?m in my car. Atleast I can get home, but, yeah, I was thinking the same. The Midwest has been mean to me so far this year.
I?m gonna have the only accord in MS with salt rust.

Your timing is impeccable .... from the possibility of ice to monsoonal rain, plus just a bit windy to grab Toto and hang on ... safe travels, my friend. It looks like you spun the weather wheel, and your prize was a zonk.

Maybe you should just stay in place to be safe. Looks like this afternoon/evening gonna be rough. Safe travels.

Satellite imagery starting to show breaks in the clouds. I'll be heading out in the next few minutes. Once things get cranking I'll be pretty scarce in here.

Where are you gonna stage?

All the schools in the GTR are letting out early. So I guess me and the kids will ride it out at home watching the weather if it gets rough.

Just filled my truck up (first damage of the chase) and now I'm heading towards eupora. Gives me decent roads to where I may have to move to.

Looks like it's gonna be later tonight for us. They're not showing anything coming through Jones county until about 630

Made it home. Sleet and snow in St Louis. Drizzle and tons of wind the rest of the way. Hope all else fair well.
