Ran some numbers if curious:

Last 10 games(SEC schedule + Texas Tech)

3 pointers made 43
3 pointers given up 71
minus 28 point differential

Same 10 game point differential on all non 3 pointers scored is State plus 13 and are 5-5.

Pretty obvious our inability to shoot from behind the arc is our Achilles heel.

If we're 5-5 in this stretch with a positive pt differential, then we must be dominating 2-pt shooting or FTs

Take out one game Texas Tech and I bet the numbers look pretty good for us (maybe not on 3s but that is only one part of game).

Out of all 22 games, we have made more 3 pointers than 3.

I get that our style is drive to the basket, score in the paint but you HAVE to be able to shoot the 3 the way the game is played today. Howland, recruit some 17n shooters damnit

He can?t do it. He is too old school in his philosophy and that is what will be his downfall. Look at almost all of our losses this year and the one common thread is we go through extended droughts of not being able to score because we have no 3 point threat on the floor so the other team can just pack it in. We?re a Phil Turner or Barry Stewart away this year just like we?re a Phil Turner or Barry Stewart away every year since about 2017

Yep, our chance of being a special team this year went out the door with the ridiculous early departure of DJ Stewart.

That and us only having one player that can make a layup.

.

It is pretty difficult to not recruit any 3 pt. shooters, when that is how the game is played at all levels now. How do you recruit a whole college team that can't shoot 3's? Someone ask CBH.

We would be so good with DJ.

huge mistake. to not take advantage of Molinar's last year and having Brooks and Tolu down low, really, really hurts.
