Coach Collins said yesterday that true freshman Dez Harris is now up to 232 lbs and is clocking 4.4 40s. Says he is at times the fastest player on the field regardless of position.

Has anyone heard anything else about this guy?

Our linebacking crew is going to be stacked next season. Special teams should also be better due to this.

Here is his high school video. He was QB and we only got an 81 rating for him. Next year he will be a 6'4" 235 pound linebacker that runs 4.4. Our coaches are evaluating talent well at the amateur level. Just wish they could evaluate our roster correctly.

Yeah, he's apparently doing pretty good. He blew the coaches away two big dawg camps ago at LB.. He played QB in high school.

Good to hear he's running well after tearing a knee ligament his senior season.

He is and has always been a great athlete. He has never played LB or defense before so the question will be his physicality and ability to shed blocks. He is more raw at LB even than McKinney was. People forget McKinney played LB in the Blackwell classic and had double digit tackles.

B...b...but Mullen can't recruit!!!!!!

Our coverage special teams have actually been pretty good this year. It's the cluster**** that's kicking FGs making special teams as a whole seem way more awful than it really is. Although the return units could be better, admittedly.

Not really appropriate for this thread b/c Dez has yet to take a snap. As for the return game, we are dead last in the country in punt returns, so yeah, there is room for improvement. We are 2nd in the SEC in 3 and outs so our PR team is getting opportunities.

Ole Miss claims the recruiting trophy on signing day, not when their players actually play for the first time. Why shouldn't we?

But seriously, 4.4 speed at 230 lbs. is talent, and talent is all you can really recruit. Mullen and co. can go ahead and take a pat on the back for this one.
