Bingo. ESPN DGAF about recruiting. What they put out about recruits is bullshit.

And a lot of our guys yesterday were 1 point shy of being a 4* on 247. Rivals bumped them to 4*s. To me, as it should be.

ESPN props up the blue bloods and keeps schools like us down by bad mouthing us. ESPN is a big part of the perception wheel.

He wouldn't have fit the Air Raid at all. He is a pound the rock RB, not sure how good he would be coming out of the backfield on passing routes.

I live in the area and went and saw Germantown play a couple of times this year. They are one of the worse coached teams in 6A. Big Zay didn't impress me and Branson seemed to have an ankle injury.

That was me. Former SC asst coach. My rule of thumb has always been the top 5 truly separate themselves. 6-25, put em in a bag and shake em up. Not much difference.

ESPN is what screws the 247 Composite rating up. ESPN is a joke. If it was just Rivals and 247 in the composite rating, it would be more realistic.

Results say its basically the Top 10 and then everybody else. It's easy to judge the top talent. It's easy to judge lower end talent. It's the 60% in the middle that's really hard to judge and project development on.

I don't think teams 5-10 have any chance at a natty unless they've got a top 10 pick at QB. The talent in college football is way too concentrated among 3-5 schools

maybe- but bottom line is that they are one of the best 5 teams in college football this season without a Top 5 average class overall. As I said- results say Top 10 recruiters make the playoff. I agree that only about 3 teams have a chance to win it all each season. I do think Michigan will play with Georgia because Georgia isn't explosive enough offensively due to their inexperience this year at WR.

Michigan AVG recruiting ranking is 11.25 over that span you noted and their AVG conference opponent recruiting ranking is 33.975.

Miss St AVG recruiting ranking is 25.75 over that span you noted and our AVG conference opponent recruiting ranking is 22. (Vandy heavily skews this.. next year would be even worse with UGA thrown in there)

Do what you will with this info, but Michigan's ticket to the playoff is far and away easier to punch based on their recruiting and opponent's inability to compete with them. It's really not that impressive that the 2nd best recruiter in the conference by a mile can make it.

Exactly. Something is fishy when so many of our commits end up just shy of 4 star. It seems to be obviously skewed for some programs. Would love to see a breakdown of our recruits average over the past ten years, compared to other teams with a similar average, comparing number of players to the NFL.
