Oh, I know. A surprising number of kids from here (Glynn County) who can't get into UGA end up at OM. We all know the type. They wear Sea Island golf shirts with Masters hats, even though they don't golf and live in Brunswick; drive jacked King Ranches even though they've never been off road or on a farm and have disdain for "simple rednecks"; and they flunk out and gain a nice coke habit for their daddy's $ sending them out of state to party at the Grove.

I grew up with a bunch of the same in Marietta - we could just get into UGA back in the 80s and 90s so most went to Athens for the same experience and results. Biggest difference is they drove Z28s instead of King Ranches. One reason I went to State instead of UGA was to get away from them.

I went to ole miss as a 18 year old idiot. I did not fit in at all. I was your average middle class kid from a small town. I dropped out before my first semester was over. One of my top 5 worse decisions of my life. I have seen the preening, the pretentiousness, the condescension and all out douchebagery first hand. I hate that place with a singular, visceral loathing. I will never give them quarter. I will never cheer for them. I wait for the day they close that place down, burn the Grove and salt what?s left.

A good friend of mine who was very connected in the ATL has a daughter at ARKY now. When they lived in ATL all she talked about was going to Ole Miss. All of her friends talked about going to OM and are now attending OM. Whatever you may think about OM they know how to market themselves country wide. Aubbie does the same in New Orleans.
