I had the same thought. I thought if you declared you were done at that point? Maybe the rule changed or I'm mistaken but I don't remember anyone continuing to play after declaring.

The rumor mill also says he may chose to end his college career after Thursday if they don't miraculously make Atlanta.

Since it’s only verbal I assume you can still play. I’m guessing he hasn’t submitted paperwork yet or signed with an agent.
