Also interesting of note- all 4 SEC teams that are in the top 10 in SOS suffered a large number of injuries that took its toll on their team and caused losses.

3 of the 4 have lost their starting QB to injuries
Georgia lost numerous offensive players
Florida lost their their starting QB, TB, DT, and others
State has lost their SS, RG, 2 different QB's, numerous Secondary injuries, and a LB
Tenn lost their QB and others.

Playing a roughass schedule takes it toll on your team and you better have alot of depth

We had the toughest schedule in the country in 2009 and played tough teams better than we have this year. In 2010 as well. We are regressing as far as that goes.

This all day. It hurts your depth because you can't play your back-ups and get them game experience and as you said, you keep your starters out there so it gets them beat up a little bit more.

Really?

2009- Auburn 49 State 24.....2013 #6 Auburn wins on last second play....both were @ Auburn
2009- Bama 31 State 3...2013- Bama 20 State 7...both in Sville
2009- LSU 30 State 26...2013- LSU 59 State 26
2009- lost to #3 Fla 29-19 thx to 2 defensive TD's...lost to #12 A&M 51-41

We have played 5 of the current top 12 this season, with two more currently in the top 25- in 2009, we played 5 teams that ended up in the top 25

We most certainly didnt play teams any better in 2009

this team would skull rape the 2009 team. Its not even close IMO.

2010 was the arguably the toughest SEC slate ever. We competed then. Why are we not looking at the 2009 LSU comparison if we play that game?

We finished 4-4 in the SEC in 2010....we'll finish 3-5 in 2013...the difference? We played a down Fla team in 2010 as opposed to a SC team in 2013 that is likely to finish around 10th in the country

2010- only 2 SEC West teams finished in the top 10....2013- 3 could finish there

LSU comparision? We played Jordan Jefferson in 2009- we played a 1st or 2nd round pick in Mett in 2013 with a hurt Secondary. That's the difference

Instead of selectively comparing, lets actually compare.

Jackson State = Alcorn State

Ga Tech won the ACC. They are greater than or equal to OSU. We played them well and should have won but we turned the ball over 4 times including once inside the 5.

Bama still the same. Played them better this year thanks to 4 Bama turnovers.

LSU still the same. They have their worst D since that 09 team. Played them much better in 09 and should have won but turned the ball over 4 times.

Middle Tennessee greater than or equal to Bowling Green. MTSU went 10-3 that year.

Houston is better than Troy by a long shot. They won the CUSA and were ranking for most of the year, as high as 12th.

Arkansas was much better in 2009.

Ole Miss was probably better in 2009, but we can call it equal.

Auburn is better this year, and we played them better this year.

We played Tebow and Florida close thanks to getting some turnovers. We played Manziel and A&M close thanks to getting some turnovers.

Kentucky was much better (7-6) in 2009 than they are this year (2-8).

South Carolina this year is much tougher than Vandy in 09.

I think you can say 6 games are the same, 4 were more difficult in 09 and 2 were more difficult this year.

It's pretty close as far as how well we've played teams but it shouldn't be. Tyson Lee was our QB. The roster wasn't near as good as it is today. Credit to Mullen for building the talent base but strike against Mullen for not being able to do anything with it.

We're not regressing.

2009-2010 - we ran the spread with emphasis on the run game and Relf at QB
2011 - we ran the spread with emphasis on the run game and Relf at QB, but Relf gets hurt at Auburn, and we put a passing QB behind the reigns of a run heavy (QB included) offense
2012 - we make the full switch to a heavily pass oriented offense with Tyler at QB
2013 - we continue a heavily pass oriented offense with Tyler at QB. Tyler gets hurt in the first game, Dak comes in. We are forced to try and change the offense back to the 2009-11 scheme after the season has started, with a QB that has never started a game.

I'm not giving Mullen a completely free pass on this, there's been some dumbass calls on offense, and special teams, good god......
