But our record will be about what I thought it would be. We are definitely on the right track. The promising thing is we are doing this without hardly any blue chip players, especially in the defensive front 7.

Today's result is not as relevant as how much better we are getting. It's the difference in 2 shitty bowl games at the end of the day.

We are better on offense, but we lack talent on defense and need to close recruiting strong on that side.

We really need a good haul and this would be a good year to pull a big JUCO class. Especially at safety.

Agree that we are better than I thought we would be as well. Which makes the way we?ve lost some of the games even more frustrating.

In 3 of our losses, league average special teams play wins those games. To be fair I think ST helped us win NC State and we had a good punt at the end of TAMU that pinned them back.

But other than Bama we?ve shown up every week even though that LT was tough to watch at times. The offense has shown big improvement the last few games as we?ve committed to running more.

Portal may be our answer, it's the new wave plus you can find guys who played at higher competition level than a JUCO, but we can use a few Juco's also.

We have never been known to pull in blue chip players. This is about what I expected, but with a few better wins and worse losses. These results don?t look all that much different than the Longo years at OM. He was AirRaid, too, but not near as much lately. UNC runs a lot more than OM did. Huge numbers, red zone woes. It?s why they wanted Leach instead of Luke. They were actually built at that point to play AirRaid. I got to listen with a smile every Monday through Wednesday as they pontificated on why it wasn?t working like it did at Sam Houston. I agree with many other posters. This system will have us hover around .500 with a 8-9 win special season 1-2 times a decade. As long as we make a bowl, I guess folks will be happy until CFB and the SEC push to eliminate G5 cupcakes from the schedule.
