This is off topic but does anybody know what the fallout between Leach and Hal Mume was? He was in state when Leach was hired and seemed like an obvious staff member. Always puzzled me

Because Hal Mumme has failed everywhere since Leach left him. It's pretty simple actually. Leach came up with the offense based on the basic concepts that Mumme originally came up with. Mumme is still running those same basic concepts whereas Leach was able to create an attacking offense out of it. Hal also has some baggage on and off the field.
