Joe Moorhead was a great guy. His wife and kids were also top knotch. I got to know his family fairly well and they seemed like great people. I made a joke above about his crazy diet. It was in jest. If this is serious, I hope he makes a quick recovery and gets back out there.

Just a guess, and if it's heart-related - I doubt it's just a stent. Stents don't require a long hospital stay unless there are complications. On the other hand, might be a bypass. When I had mine just over 6 years ago, I was in the hospital for 6 days.

I saw someone mention gall stones. It seems like that wouldn?t require a several day stay in the hospital though.

Joe came to my sons high school on a recruiting visit. My kids a baseball player but he ran into Joe in the office and Joe saw his State shirt and struck up a conversation with him. He didn't have to do that but it was a cool thing to do. My son was impressed with him. Really fine man and I sure wish him a speedy recovery.

He quietly did a lot of things very few ever heard about. It was never about him. Sometimes when you see someone as good as he is not make it, it reminds you just how unfair life can be. Fantastic man. I hope his next chance is worthy of him and turns out differently.

Yeah I really wanted it to work out here for him. Sucks it didn't but he's doing really well with Oregon and him not coaching Saturday maybe a big reason they lost.
