If state wins this week does Jimbo's seat start heating up a bit? I would think that would be a clear indicator that things are starting to go the wrong direction.

Obviously he has a huge buyout so I doubt there is much of anything that could get him canned this year but you would have to think if he drops this one there wouldn't a whole lot of winnable games left on the SEC schedule.

Based on what I have seen to date, He doesn?t have anything to worry about this weekend.

Yeah I believe if we win or even if they win and the game is close his seat starts getting warm, cause they've been pretty meh this year even in their wins.

Maybe I am giving A&M too much credit, but I would think last year's performance gives him a little bit of cushion. Plus, I think it's somewhat easier to swallow looking good except having no option at quarterback. That's frustrating, especially with the existence of the transfer portal, but it's not like they look like shit everywhere.

You could very well be right. I'm just kind of basing it on some of the Aggies folks I know who have become very impatient when it comes to football. They are so jealous of Bama and it eats at them. They saw Jimbo as their savior and they ain't seeing the ROI and there are some grumbling. That Aggie bunch is a little on the odd side so who knows which way they'll go.

Aggies have fired so many coaches it's hard to keep up. Money and buyouts are never their problem.

Reading comprehension problem? I didn't ask if you thought State was going to win or not. My question was if State does find a way to win does Jimbo's seat heat up?

Some of yall must get your rocks off to being consistently negative regardless of if the thread remotely has anything to do with that or not.

I think everyone probably assumes we lose this game but thanks for living up to your user name Captain Obvious.

This, they seem to have an endless supply of the green stuff, and have been throwing money around for years. Wish I had that problem!

Thru their first 40 games:
Kevin Sumlin: 29-11
Jimbo: 29-11

Kevin Sumlin showed them that you can't win with B12 defenses.
Jimbo is trying to show that you can't win with a traditional MSU team (great defense and WTF offense). If they don't find an offense in a hurry, they could lose every game remaining on their schedule except Prairie View.

This^

Additionally, it's my understanding that Jimbo (technically) doesn't have a "buyout"... His contract is fully guaranteed... So, if they wanted to can him, it'd cost TAMU nearly $100M...

Like I said, I am giving them credit for being somewhat reasonable, which is probably too much credit for football fans in general, much less A&M fans.

That said, they did not hire Saban or Meyer and are setting themselves up for failure if that is what they are expecting. They spent a shit ton of money and probably overpaid for a proven coach. In exchange, they've gone 2nd, 4th, and 2nd in the West (with last year having probably the third best if not the 2nd best team in the SEC). This year is probably going to be down from that, but that's still about as good as anybody can expect when they are hiring in the SEC West and they are not hiring Saban or Meyer. And he's only 55. Not sure if he is driven the way some other coaches are, but he should have ten years in him easy if he is.

Agreed. Most of them were/are expecting Jimbo to be their savior and they have an alabama attitude without the trophy's. They played second fiddle to Texas and Oklahoma for so long and tried to get out from under their shadow and now they're in the SEC and not even second fiddle, lol. They are an extremely odd bunch.

Look, this showed how stupid Aggies are, or just how pompous they are. Bama doesn't even give Saban a guaranteed contract, they took a guy that had one great season and under performed every other season, with his last one being a dumpster fire. I have always thought that he was a bad hire, I might eventually eat those words. But, honestly I am not betting on it, Jimbo's best year, last year still under performed. That entire program is mind boggling, the money, the history, the fans, the lack of cheerleaders, oil, and arrogance, simply doesn't add up to the lack of sustained success.

They talked about this on SXM SEC radio this morning. Both hosts agreed if we beat A&M that Jimbo's seat gets warm. And they both felt we had a good shot at beating them.

Well he signed for around $75 million, not sure how many years but guessing around 6 or 7. With oil wells being shut down I wonder how many are a little worried***

If we beat them and LSU loses on the Plains then you can go ahead and start up the Jimbo to LSU rumors once again.

You're right. My bad on that one. So if they lose then they will definitely be looking for a new HC next year.

A&M is a weird place. The school is somewhat void of a winning culture, but they've got endless amounts of money so they keep trying.

I know a good many Aggies & a they're kind of a soft bunch that are more into their traditions & chants than actually having an idea about how to win games no matter the sport.

They're like any of the old SWC teams. They have a group of big money boosters that attempt to run everything and the other 98% of their fanbase has an inflated sense of who they actually are.

Lol exactly like that. It?s like when he gave romo that 110 mill 4or 5 year contract. No one made any sense out of that.
