Banks said it before he left and he's starting to live up. He was calling secondary coverages tonight, had the two picks, and made some other really quality plays. This guy has the chance to be a really good one.

we're getting better- young teams that are coached get better.

Now we have to win 2 games to finish this season strong

Some people say we aren't young but look at who made big defensive plays tonight. Calhoun, McKinney, Benny Brown, Chris Jones. That's why our defense has been so spotty. Youth does that. Offensively we are just not equipped to go with Tyler although we may have pass blocked better than any game I've ever seen at MSU including the games against the Alcorn States of the world.

The offense had no chance this year. Not even the fact that we had such young WRs. But you lose your starting RG game 1 for the year. Then you lose a summer's worth of practice when Russell goes down game 1. He's out a month and comes back. Him and Dak split time the next few games and Dak finally wins the job. Then Dak goes down after our offense has finally gotten a rhythm with him and we have to go back to Russell. It will be nice in the future when we can run the same offense no matter what QB is in.

He wasn't a Dandy Dozen player but he ended the season as 1st team all state. Everyone overlooked him and we didn't get the guy until the end of the crooting season. I think he may have been given the spot that little turd from Madison Central was taking up as a two for deal for Tobias Singleton. What ever happened to that kid, Joe Price may have been his name? Don't even remember.

We stole Taveze from delta state, Ron Roberts was pissed cause all Calhoun was doing was texting Mullen! What an amazing pick up! And Beniquez Brown is a freaking beast! AMAZING YOUNG TALENT!!!

Price is at Alcorn State right now. He actually played some against us this year.

Let's see, on defense, all these guys are sophs or freshmen:

Chris Jones
Beniquez Brown
Richie Brown
Benardrick McKinney
Taveze Calhoun
AJ Jefferson
Will Redmond
Kendrick Market
Nelson Adams
Ryan Brown
Quay Evans
Nick James
Zach Jackson
Cedric Jiles
Kivon Coman
Deonte Evans

And that doesn't include some guys who have yet to see the field...Irvin-Sills, Myles, Wells, Antoine (has probably played some, but not much), Dez Harris, Trent Simpson.

Yes, we are young on defense.

Im shocked benni is doing anything. He has played well for a guy i never expected to be anything more than depth

We've got some nice talent. We are setting up for a solid year next year, assuming Dan works on some of his weaknesses also. If we can take care of bidness Saturday, Egg Bowl week should be fun. A bowl to play for heading into a promising next year.

Seems like every young player that has played has impressed me hopefully they don't disappoint in future years

That's a big big plus that Mullen has brought. His teams get better as the season goes on. That's not been a staple of MSU until he got here.

And Cleveland. He's going to be a solid player.
