Let's talk coaching outside the scheme (which is abysmal). Leach is without a doubt the worst clock manager I've ever seen. Our team does not know how to play 2 minute football. This check with me has got to go. It's not like we have to guess what defense we are gonna be throwing into. If this offense had any tempo at all we could have won today. But no. That would involve changing.
Same goes for goal line football - I will never understand some of the stupid shotgun run plays we produce inside the red zone.
We look like we are being coached by a grad assistant at times. Especially today giving up that timeout. What was even worse was the clock management at the end of the first half. If we had a 2 minute drill, we could have easily gotten atleast in field goal range.

And he thought it was all fine in his pressor.

Have to agree with you. You'd think with a seasoned HC and 5mil it would be better than what we see. Inside the 20 is like a D adding 2 extra defenders.

This is the most disturbing element and why it ain't gonna work. He sees nowhere he can improve.

He sucks at clock management.

And I'll be honest, I can count in one hand the college coaches who are good at it. Dan sucked at it, Croom too, Jackie was the worst I've seen. Freeze is good at it.

At the goal line.........With Leach, you will never go under center in a jumbo package at any time. His roster doesn't have TEs or FBs or big bruising backs.

You will run Inside zone or a pass play to one of the 4 Wrs or the scat back. Every time.

I think we've complained about every coach we have ever had about clock management. Ha. I agree before the half, he should have done better. He did say we needed more tempo, I believe. And yes, we need to incorporate some kind of power run game at goal line. We can't afford not to punch it in anymore. The timeout at the end of the game for review doesn't bother me. It was a chance taken to get the ball in good field position. LSU would have eaten a ton of clock anyway and then tried to pin us deep and we would have had a long field with little time and no timeouts. They probably would have sky kicked it or kick out of bounds for no return possibilities too. Both scenarios were very long shots.
