Leach can't recruit. To win a natty in CFB, you have to recruit. You will not win a natty on coaching alone

I was hopeful that Leach's recruiting problems were due to where he's coached, but this year has proven me wrong thus far. He literally has no interest in recruiting & apparently neither does his staff

Leach has been a successful coach. He has a really good track record. He's a guy you get at a non-blue blood program though. He can't recruit enough to compete on the big stage. He will win games he shouldn't and lose games he shouldn't with his gimmick offense. Where did I go wrong?

I said he'd have them in a position to challenge for the west every few years. I never said what you typed. They were 9-1, and won orange bowl last year. I'm sure leach woulda run the table

Jimbo and Leach are both good coaches. I actually do like Leach I just am not sure he is the best fit here. I think if he goes 7-5 this year I will start believing it, but my concern is that 4-8 or 5-7 is coming with him. 6-6 would even be okay given the situation but then he would need to win at least 8 next year

I've never been much of a Jimbo fan. Something about him. And he's had enough talent to do much better than he has.

Making a mistake on an up and coming head coach who wins as a head coach at a place like north Texas, Army, SMU etc is one thing. But trying to take an OC that won because he had incredible talent and making him an SEC coach was a Huge mistake. If Leach doesn?t work out I won?t blame Cohen because he hired a coach at a high level with a proven track record. I probably would?ve done the same thing given the choices unless Clawson wanted the job, but the Moorhead hire is such a head scratcher to me
