I can't argue with that take.

First year at Western Michigan 1-11. 4th year, 13-1.

First year at Minnesota, 5-7. 3rd year, 11-2. Not an easy place to win.

1. Saban 2. Dabo 3. Lincoln Riley 4. Fleck

I can't name a 5th. I guess Kirby Smart b/c of his recruiting.

He did not coach well at all that second half tonight.

He?s a very good coach but to me he?s clearly a Big 10 guy. I don?t think his Row The Boat schtick would work as well in the South.

What makes you say this? I actually was wanting him before we hired Leach.

Another "Check with me offense." No thanks. He was giving one of the most elite defenses in college football time to adjust before the ball was snapped. Without Ibrahim they probably wouldn't have scored more than a couple of touchdowns. Fleck is a more charismatic Fat Bert. Still a good coach though. Speaking of Fat Bert, watch him start killing it at Illinois.

The Row the Boat stuff, while good natured and a tribute to his son that passed away as an infant, is a bit campy and I just don't think SEC athletes would connect with it. It gives me major Butch Jones Champions of Life vibes.

Resume-wise he is basically Moorhead 2.0. No college coaching experience in the south, and other than a one year GA gig at Ohio State, Minnesota is the best school he has coached at. I could see him jumping to a bigger midwestern school at some point but he just doesn't seem like he would be a great fit in the SEC.
