SS in portal. Go get him. NOW!

Why? He hit .243 and had a .913 fielding % - that's not a step up

Forsythe is a much better hitter and fielder?

This. I'm sure there's a reason he's in the portal, like uga told him to look around. .913 is brutal for a ss and when you hit .243 you better be a slick fielder and obviously he's not.

need to find a couple of MIF's outside of the Power 5. There are some studs out there at places like USM, Dallas Baptist, Campbell, etc..

It's tough b/c the portal closes July 1st.

He's only batting .243, but he is OPSing .795 with 9 HR. So a MUCH better hitter than Forsythe.

And his fielding % isn't good, but Forsythe's is only .927 himself and that just doesn't tell you a whole lot.

I'm in no way advocating we get him, I'm good with letting Forsythe develop. But it's not true that we know he isn't better than Forsythe. With that bat, we would all be clamoring for him to start over Forsythe if we had him.

Neto would be a wish list pickup at infield.

Seems like a classic Problem Child on his 4th! transfer

Vandy -> St Johns CC -> UGA -> ?

Highest Batting Average was 230

I am holding out for Jacob Gonzalez from Ole Miss, that kid probably thought he was coming to Starkville and ended up in Oxford.

Or a Notre Dame kid...like Branigan or Putz or Prajzner.

I agree. Forsythe isn't a great hitter, but he is one of the best fielding SS in the nation.

His fp proves otherwise.

He is the best fielding SS on the MSU team - he does not rate on the national level or even in the top-7 of the SEC.

His fp proves otherwise.

Fielding percentage is a meaningless stat. Use sabermetric fielding statistics exclusively.
