I know it's off subject but jake has hit 5 dingers already in less than 150 ABs. Apparently he worked out during covid.

Wasn't he our lead off with low strike outs? Has he changed his swing looking for more power?

I have no idea, but I'm guessing so. Either that or his selectivity at the plate hasn't changed, but the pitching has gotten much better.

Just a guess but he probably knows you could hit 0.400 and no homers and never have a shot at MLB in the current state of the game.

Is that because he's an outfielder where all are required to have power?

Pretty much, but there is a shift to even SS and 2nd being power guys.

He probably raised his launch angle. Ground balls in mlb are outs, so all those college don't work in upper milb/mlb

I hope he figures things out and has a long, prosperous career in the majors. But, as soon as he hangs up the cleats, we'd be stupid to not immediately try getting him into the athletic department in some capacity. He's got the personality to be AD one day.
