Best of luck. Hope he turns into a very rich man like Brandon Woodruff should.

3100 rpm on his breaking ball is insane. The MLB average is 2500.

Yeah, the part they left off was that it spun at that rate right into the stands and killed a guy.*

Yeah he could have been that other dominant pitcher to give us the NC. We gave up on him too soon.

I can't fault the coaches too much, but I do think there's been innings for him that we chose to use on much lesser talent guys. EC's sec numbers after that bad start at lsu weren't bad at all

Yes - he kinda makes me wonder about foxhall

You'll notice the article mentions the stiffness in his delivery which is something that we've talked about on the board before. His motion has no rhythm which makes it hard for him to get a repeatable delivery.

If he can't fix that then he won't be any more effective in MLB systems than he was here. If someone in an organization can figure that out then he might be a huge case of "what if" for the MSU fan base.

I feel like 3 years is a decent amount of time to give someone to show they can throw a baseball effectively at the collegiate level.

Career is over with a 3.76 era and over 12 k9

Well every pitcher can have control issues. EC showed he had the stuff. He was a top 5 preseason draft pick for a reason.

I think Cerantola could be a great pro. But he's the kind of kid that needs baseball as a career to be able to work on what he needs to in order to be successful.

Some kids can grow in college. Some can't but still have potential beyond that. To me Cerantola is the latter. He's got #1 type stuff. But right now he can't throw it for strikes consistently and we tried for 3 years to get him to do it. He needs to make this a career and let an organization throw the tools at their disposal at him to develop him.
